Johnee Kop
United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Professional Level 1
member (highest ranking), Johnee Kop from the United States has been working
with juniors and adults in Hawaii, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Beijing
for the last 15 years. He has been exposed to some of the finest teaching
professionals in the world: Nick Bollettieri, Brad Gilbert and Rick
Macci. In 2005 and 2006, Johnee was the Nike/China International coach
taking China's boys' and girls' junior teams to France and Spain.
Johnee began his professional career in 1988. Since then, he has worked
with the United States Tennis Association developing Tennis 123 and Tennis Across
America. He was the traveling coach for the Hawaii Junior Sectional Team and
was the Assistant Professional at Kailua Racquet Club in Hawaii. He was
also the USPTA 35's Hawaii Player of the Year.
Moving to Beijing in 1998, Johnee worked for several years at China Tennis School
with some of China's National Team Coaches. For two years, he was the full-time
coach of the #1 12 and 14 girl's national champion in China. In 2006 Johnee
worked with China's top 13 year old boy. In addition, he coached Beijing's
10 and 14-year old boys' champions and Beijing's 12-year-old girl's champion all
making it to Beijing's Tennis Team. He currently directs and coaches at
Haidian Sports School.
Johnee also coaches in the Beijing expatriate community. He directs the
Competition Team Tennis program organized by Sports Beijing and is in charge
of Sports Beijing's Speed, Agility and Quickness (SAQ) class.
Johnee has a reputation for a fun, creative, and enthusiastic approach to
working with peewees, nationally ranked juniors, and adults. He teaches
fundamentals, footwork, etiquette, rules, sportsmanship, positioning, strategy,
and includes plenty of match play to satisfy the most competitive juniors.
In addition, Johnee teaches tennis in both English and Mandarin. |
